Spicy Fijian: Cinnamon Citrus Bourbon Cocktail Recipe

This bourbon cocktail recipe is accented with orange peel, smoked cinnamon sticks and fresh hibiscus flowers in Fiji. A simple bourbon cocktail recipe can still be exciting! Our mixologist friend George Hucklesby designed this recipe one evening at Tavola and called it the Spicy Fijian for its rich flavor. Intentionally aligned with the throat chakra, the Spicy Fijian will leave a tingle in the back of your mouth. It promotes truth, communication and honest living while also encouraging self-expression. Prepare to speak your truth.

Spiced Bourbon Cocktail Recipe Ingredients

  • 50 ml Bourbon
  • Cane sugar
  • Hot water
  • Angostura Bitters

Cocktail Preparation

Step 1: Boil a kettle of water.
Step 2: Pour 75 ml of hot water into a metal jug. Add 2 tbsp of Cane Sugar and plenty of Angostura Bitters. Stir together and continue to add Bitters to desired taste.
Step 3: Pour 50 ml of Bourbon into a whiskey tumbler. Add 2 – 3 ice cubes.
Step 4: Pour the sweetened Bitters mix into the whiskey tumbler.
Step 5: Garnish with sliced orange peel and serve.

OK, so the smoked cinnamon is more of a decorative garnish than an ingredient. But it looks beautiful, doesn’t it? The smell alone seems to add a certain flavor. Give it a whirl. Experience more of our cuisine offering here. Cheers, islanders.
